I was born in Kenya to an English father and a Swiss mother, and by the age of twenty-seven I had lived in nine countries - from Kenya, Nigeria, Singapore and India to Turkey, Cyprus, Spain, Italy and the UK.

Growing up amongst different cultures, communities and ways of life taught me something I have carried with me ever since: wherever we come from, we all need to feel welcomed, connected and that we belong.

I've been married to my husband, Joey, for over thirty years, and we have two wonderful daughters, Mia and Poppy, now in their mid twenties. Becoming a mother shaped me profoundly, giving me an understanding of parenthood that has continued to deepen through every stage of family life.

Parenthood has been at the heart of my life for as long as I can remember. Both as a mother and through the privilege of spending my career alongside expectant parents and growing families, I have seen just how much difference it makes when people feel supported, informed and a little less alone.

For many years I had the privilege of working closely with expectant parents, guiding thousands of families through one of life's biggest transitions. Today, those years of experience live on in Anita's List - a carefully curated digital platform that brings together everything I've learnt, making trusted, impartial guidance accessible to many more families than I could ever support personally.

The thousands of parents I have met along the way have trusted me with their questions, worries, hopes and stories, and I've learnt just as much from them as I hope they've learnt from me. My work has also introduced me to extraordinary people, organisations and charities across the globe, continually reinforcing my belief that our lives are shaped not only by what we know, but by the people we meet, the kindness we receive and the generosity we choose to share.

Over the years, both through my own life and through the privilege of walking alongside thousands of families, I've come to believe that none of us are meant to navigate life alone; that belonging is something we create for one another; that sharing what we've learnt is one of the greatest gifts we can offer; and that the smallest introduction, act of kindness or conversation can quietly change the course of a life.

This space brings together the different parts of my life and work. I hope it gives you a little insight into the things that matter to me and, if something here resonates, I'd love to stay connected. You'll find me sharing more regularly on LinkedIn and Instagram.

Thank you for popping in.

Anita xoxo
